Around 1980 the Architect Gilbert Caroff was
commissioned in Paris to built a sailboat for the Artic Sea.
The
hull of the Ile Disko, was made of 12.70
meters of steel with drop keel, strong enough to withstand the
toughest sea conditions.
From
then on about 200 more hulls were made using this
durable method.
In
1992 the Rumbera was launched after two years of
work in which the crew was present in order to
choose the best equipment for a comfortable and
safe journey.
For
two years it was chartered in the Caribbean islands and
along the Venezuelan coast, and in 1994 it arrived
in Sardinia.
